Using 4.00mm knitting needles and 8ply yarn
Cast on 22 sts
Knit 2 rows garter stitch
NOTE: When working the stocking stitch section on each purl row, work k2, Purl to last 2 sts, K2 (to create garter stitch edging of coaster)
Work in stocking stitch as per chart for either candy cane or christmas tree (see below),
Work 2 rows garter stitch, cast off. Trim and neaten edges.
