Magic Ring (MC) is a technique used in crochet for amigurumi, granny squares, baskets and other projects worked in the round to avoid having a hole at the start of your work.

Watch the short video on how to make a magic ring.  The video also demonstrates how to make a double crochet stitch using the UK/Australian method.

NOTE: Crochet abbreviations in the USA refer to different techniques than in UK/AUS.  When you are reading a crochet pattern ensure you are following the stitches according to the country of origin of the pattern.  The Yarn Club crochet patterns follow the UK/Australian abbreviations, unless otherwise stated.
