KFB= Knit into front and back of the same stitch, to increase 1 stitch

K2tog= Knit 2 stitches together to decrease 1 stitch

sts= stitches

Cast on 8sts

1st Row:              Kfb, k5, kfb, k1                                 10sts

2^nd Row:              Kfb, k7, kfb, k1                                 12sts

3^rd Row:               Kfb, k9, kfb, k1                                 14sts

4^th Row:               Kfb, k11, kfb, k1                              16sts

5^th Row:               K2tog, k12, k2tog                            14sts

6^th Row:               K2tog, k10, k2tog                            12sts

7^th Row:               K2tog, k8, k2tog                              10sts

8^th Row:               Cast off 3sts, knit to end               7sts

9^th Row:               Cast off 3sts, k3, cast on 5sts

Cast off

Using a contrasting colour of yarn – cut a length around 18” (46cm)

Wrap this around the middle of the butterfly to form a body

Tie in a knot at the top – and trim ends leaving a length of around ¾” (2cm)
