k – knit

Materials: 8ply yarn and 4.00mm knitting needles

Recommended Yarn types: Wool, bamboo, Tencil, Cotton or blends of these.

Pattern

Cast on 33 stitches

With main color, cast on 33 stitches

Rows 1 – 8: knit

Cut main color, attach contrast color.

Row 9: knit

Row 10: k5, purl up to last 5 stitches, k5

Row 11: knit

Row 12: repeat Row 10

Cut contrast color, attach main color.

Rows 13 – 18: knit

Cut main color, attach contrast color.

Row 19: knit

Row 20: k5, purl up to last 5 stitches, k5

Row 21: knit

Row 22: repeat Row 20

Cut contrast color, attach main color

Rows 23 – 58: knit

Bind off. Weave in ends.

Block* if desired. (Dampen dishcloth, and lay flat and shape.  If using a blocking board, pin each corner in place to make defined corners.  Let air dry.)

*Block or blocking is a technique used to get a knitted item to lay completely flat so as to not turn in at edges.  It is used for items such as scarves, and items where you want to show definition of pattern.
