Yarn club is Australia’s first subscription club offering both knitting and crochet kits.
Yarn Club is a family business located in Lake Macquarie near Newcastle NSW that loves yarn and cares for the environment.
At Yarn Club we want to protect the environment for the future and aim to source and promote Eco Friendly, organic or recycled products where possible.
We use recycled cardboard or plain packaging and our tissue wrap is acid free. Our plain packaging ethos is to reduce waste and toxic gases created by unnecessary printing and packaging. Additional goodies in our kits are either wrapped in acid free tissue paper or paper or cloth bags. We aim to avoid plastics and use only biodegradable products where possible.
We also would love your feedback and how we can improve our systems and products to help the environment. Please leave us your feedback or suggestions via our contact form.
Our yarn is mainly sourced locally within Australia or New Zealand from boutique yarn suppliers or sourced overseas from eco friendly firms. Our wool is Australian Merino 100% certified organic unless otherwise stated. To provide you with a full range of new yarns and fibres we often need to source yarns from overseas. These yarns may be from recycled produce, such as sari yarn, t shirt yarn or sustainable products from bamboo fibres to yak wool.
